Jo Pudelko

Jo Pudelko is a contemporary Scottish designer, maker and educator working across jewellery and small-scale sculptural objects. Her practice is characterised by a playful exploration of materials, processes and the relationship between the natural and manmade worlds.

Combining traditional jewellery-making techniques with unconventional materials and emerging processes, her work explores form, colour, texture and the possibilities of sustainable making. Recent developments have focused on reducing environmental impact without compromising her distinctive visual language.

A graduate of Edinburgh College of Art, Jo has exhibited internationally and is the founder and director of Central Scotland School of Jewellery, where she champions creative learning, specialist craft skills and access to making.

“My work is driven by curiosity about materials, processes and the ways we interact with the world around us. I enjoy working between traditional craft techniques and unconventional approaches, exploring how familiar materials can be transformed into something unexpected.

Sustainability has become increasingly central to my practice, prompting a gradual shift away from synthetic resins towards lower-impact and compostable materials. I’m interested in how these changes can open up new creative possibilities rather than simply impose limitations, allowing my work to evolve while retaining its distinctive aesthetic.”
